Sacred Body Balancing: Although this modality is considered a type of Massage Therapy, it is done with minimal contact on the body except at the acupuncture points. Acupuncture points are lightly touched to access the subtle “energy layers” that are known to intertwine through the body, and ultimately stimulate and release cell memory;….. energy that is considered to be stuck. This “charged static” once cleared, is known to bring about a greater awareness of the inter-relational components of the Body, Mind and Spiritual, and how it elicits optimal Health and Well Being in your present state of consciousness. In conjunction with acupuncture points, other types of balancing and clearing methods can be used (such as color, sound, tuning fork, imagery, visualizations, breathing techniques, polarity, chakra balancing etc.) to clear and balance your integrative self. This type of massage is generally provided when the physical body is considered to be optimally in good health and without pain or physical ailments.
Relaxation Massage: The techniques of Relaxation Massage are primarily used to effect the nerve endings that innervate muscle cells. The light and long strokes applied to the superficial levels of the skin elicits a chemical/mechanical change in the body that essentially allows the body to let go and let God. The natural sedation that is elicited allows the body to seek deeper levels of consciousness; and feel the healing energies penetrating through the portals sites in your body. Along with the tactile aspect of the relaxation massage techniques, other types of relaxation techniques can be used to further elicit changes in the body that allows the body to recalibrate the body’s sense of consciousness and well being.
Therapeutic Massage: Techniques that are considered “therapeutic” refer to the physical body and it’s homeostatic characteristics that create physical adaptations to the state of wellbeing or lack of. This type of body work focuses primarily on creating physiological and structural changes at the muscular-structural level. Although the techniques can effect neurological and metabolic changes, the main focus of the deep tissue manipulation is to reestablish a healthier muscular-skeletal framework through the release of emotional, mechanical, and structural patterns of dysfunction in the contractile and inert structures of your body. The many techniques that are used to effect structural changes can also be accompanied by other types of massage and physical therapy type activities to reestablish a sense of optimal physical fitness, strength and balance.
Rehabilitative Massage: Rehabilitative Massage techniques are primarily used to re-train, re-educate, or re establish physical function, where injury, accidents, abuse, occupational or recreational repetitive activity, surgery, physical defects, atrophy, or any other de-habilitating situations cause an acute or chronic impairment of the physical body. Rehabilitative Massage not only focuses on the physical aspects of impairment but also impacts the mental/emotional and often times, the Spiritual effects of trauma. In most cases, addressing the Spiritual level will have an astounding effect on the physical and emotional level being rehabilitated. As with the other types of body work, this type of treatment can be supplemented with other types of modalities to quickly reestablish the Body, Mind, Spirit connection within.
